Hi fellow entrepreneurs! Marketing your home business can be an never ending cycle. Even when your busy you still need to keep the marketing juices flowing and your pipeline full. Its important to market your home business even harder when your the busiest to get you through the slow periods.
The reason I bring this up now is that I have had alot of changes over the last few months that are draining my time quicker than a holey bucket drains water.
I recently went back to college. I’m still performing. I have numerous projects that I’m working on as Chairman of the Christian Education Board at my church. I’ve taken on 5 more coaching/consulting clients. And I have a personal life. So my dance card is pretty full right now.
You may have noticed it has been a while since my last post or gotten an email from yours truly. It has taken me a while to get adjusted to my new schedule.
But NOT all marketing activities require tons of time and resources. Here are a few lightning fast tips for marketing your home business on the fly!
Send A Thank You Note!
Offline communication ROCKS! The number 1 reason way this tactic is so effective is because in our modern world of email, status updates and text messaging people forget about other means of communication. So when you send your customers and prospects a handwritten Thank You Card or note you really stand out as someone who cares. You could also send them an article that relates to their interest or business. I like to send books. It only takes a few minutes to send a card or a book with a personal note but the dividends could be huge in terms of people talking about you and your business. Get into the habit of doing this on a regular basis and your business will grow by leaps and bounds.
Get Your Local Listings!
Google, Yahoo and MSN are not the only search engines and directories out there. In fact there are 100′s search engines and directories that can list your business for free. Getting your business listed with them will boost your local search rankings and your sales. Click Here to get started now!
Post to Your Favorite Forum!
If you’ve taken your business online you know how important back links are to building quality traffic back to your website. Go to your favorite industry forum and do a couple quick post! Be sure you have your signature link set up properly to ensure you are driving quality traffic back to your sight.
Get Social!
You already know the importance of updating your social profiles on a regular basis. However, you don’t want to just flood them with links back to your home business website or fan pages. Take a minute to connect with your followers on a personal level. Ask a question. Share something of interest that isn’t yours. Let them know there is a person behind the profile and not simply an auto-feed app.
Insider Tip! Use a third party app such as Hootsuite to schedule multiple updates to all of your social media profiles at the same time. Set it and forget it! Trust me this will save you tons of time!
Go Live for 5!
Use your webcam to set up a live Q & A session on Facebook or Youtube where you answer questions that your business customers and prospect might have about a particular product or service. This could be used in a lot of different ways with a little creativity. Not only are you leveraging your customers and prospects, you are leveraging all of your social media contacts. This is an awesome strategy that a lot of local businesses are not even aware of. Much like the thank you card, it sets you and your business apart from the competition and gets people talking about your business.
Insider Tip! You can kill two birds with one stone! Why not record your live Q & A session. Then later in the week you can post it as fresh content to your blog!
As you can see, I’m just scratching the surface here with quick ways to market your home business. So help me out! What are some of your fastest ways to market your business? Get involved and share them below!
